Agree this is an ugly cover- I know I could create a better cover in photoshop
Terrible artwork, great movie. Still need to see "Tron: Legacy."

I think that is actually Jeff Bridges....

^They couldn't use the design that they slapped on the spine for the front cover because of the confusion it would cause with "Legacy" which used similar posters. They could have at least made something better or used the cover for the original DVD/VHS releases though.
Ironic "Legacy" didn't use the poster either for the dvd but instead other horrible designs.

I can't believe that's actually going to be the cover. What a disgrace.
Possibly the worst cover art I've EVER seen.
Why do these morons constantly ignore the original poster art of these movies?
It's genuinely baffling.

Wow. I always thought that cover was a place holder. That is one ugly package design. Who the hell spent 5 minutes photoshopping that ugly piece of c**p? Fire him immediately.

Also, as mentioned before this is in no way a "classic". Cult classic, yes, straight up classic, no way. I don't even think it made it's money back in theatres.
Also zartan, you CAN swap it out. I was just going to make my own cover with photoshop and glossy printer paper. Or of you prefer, fedex kinkos. If it has a sleeve over the cover it's easier to just get the thicker board and print it out there. I've done it a few times before, it's nice to have the covers you WANT, especially in cases like this where it's just awful. It seems they hire right out of elementary school anymore with graphic artists.
What kind of thicker board ? Do you need a special kind of printer ?
Usually you can get smaller poster-type boards. It's not as thick as the actual cardboard they sometimes use for the sleeves that go over the case, but it holds up just as fine.
I have only tried printing the movie covers/inserts on my own printer at home, never the sleeve. I went to fedex/kinkos for that because the paper was a bit thicker and sturdier then normal glossy photo paper. I am not sure what kind of printer would be able to handle that sort of paper to be honest other then going to kinkos.

Love the movie to death...but it really isn't a classic. A cult classic, yes. But you'll never hear Tron talked about in the same sentence as Casablanca or North By Northwest

Is the Blu Ray version of Tron 1 on the the Legacy 5-disc?

For a while I was afraid they were only going to release this in the Five-Disc BluRay release (basically leaving those with only DVD in the dust). Good to see that's not the case.
What a bland cover! They just couldn't use the 20th anniversary cover! Wait a minute I see it on the spine! Wish they could swipe it!
i love that they call it a classic. a cult classic for sure but just straight up classic? i wouldnt go that far. interesting choice for a cover though. i mean they go out of their way to reference the original poster for the first movie on the Legacy cover but dont even bother showing that here? lol
I sold my 20th Anniversary set on Amazon for $120 a week or so before the sequel opened because I knew I could re-buy it for peanuts once this eventual double-dip comes around. The number of copies of the 20th set for sale on Amazon marketplace continues to rise daily and the price continues to drop daily. As of today, you can now get a used one for as low as $35. A week or so ago it was $60. I'm sure it will continue to drop as everyone throws their copies on there in anticipation of the re-release. I can see it going as low as $10 or even lower in time. Many will want the new version for the Blu copy of the film and will feel that the 20th is a c**ppy older transer. However, I've heard that they have made some tweaks and CGI enhancements to the film for this new release, which I hate, so I'll be more than happy to re-buy the 20th when prices hit rock-bottom and enjoy that $100 bill in my pocket.
I'll pick this up as long as it has the same features as the 20th Anniversary edition. That had some great features.
