If Ben Stiller wasn't in it, it would've got a 10/10 from me.
With today's DVD releases, it surprises me when a movie actually uses the poster art for the cover.
Is it just me, or has Peter Travers of Rolling Stone gone a bit overboard with the superlatives?
Was Ben Stiller somewhat unhappy with the theatrical cut? Because that's what "Director's Cut" implies.
Man, I missed this in the theater, but I might have to blind buy.

I really hope one of the commentary tracks is done by Portnoy, Speedman, and Lazarus.
I''m glad the Director's Cut changed the order on the cover from "Black, Stiller, Downey Jr." to "Stiller Black Downey Jr.." I always loved the way the poster played on Downey's "unique" performance in this film.
It was pretty hilarious, which surprised me since those really big budget comedies seem often to fall flat. Looking forward to this, and I barely ever say that about a comedy on DVD.

I'm glad Jack Black's role really wasn't that big. HE was the only reason I debated seeing this movie, he's so annoying it's ridiculous.
I am still amused that on the poster and single-disc cover they moved the names so it wouldn't read BLACK DOWNEY JR.
Beautiful cover art. Didn't see it in the theaters, but I may blind buy... And I'll second giving thanks for the lack of a giant "UNRATED!" slapped on there.

Will the BD be reg free or locked to A?. Iron Man and KOTCS are both Paramount titles and they were both region free. Or will Dreamworks change that. If Tropic is region free I will get the BD. A few months before its released in Europe too I'd say.
Can't wait. Loved this movie so much! One of the best times I had in the theater this year.

Downey Jr. deserves an Oscar nomination for suppt actor. for this role. Of course it won't ever happen, since this movie is a comedy/platoon spoof in a way, but aside from the great suppt. actor performance from Heath Ledger, this is the best I have seen all year. Tom Crusie also was hilarious. Decent comedy flick, will buy for sure.
Saw this twice in theaters, loves it loads.
I was very skeptical at first, but since I work at the theater, I thought i'd give it a free chance. the first half was slow & boring but the second half was actually pretty cool.
I didnt really recognize Tom at first & near the end i was all "Holy Sh@t!" lmao.
& I agree that the 2-disc artwork is awesome, pending on price, will buy.

Still haven't seen this yet but I am sure to - Most reports I have read are one extreme to another - i.e I loved it or I hated it....

I heard the movie was originally over 2 hrs. long then they cut it down to 1 hr. and 47 mins. Is that true? For some reason, I knew that the "special edition"", in this case the director's cut, would have the tropic thunder logo with the skull on it. I just could not see it without it.

Very funny movie and great artwork for the 2-Disc that I will definitely be getting. Although I am more of a Pineapple Express fan and just thought that Tropic Thunder peaked too soon with the fake trailers and such. Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise stole the show though.

why are they only giving us the Rain of Madness trailer??? there was a hilarious 30 minute lil piece made, that is free on itunes, but they need to include it with this DVD, cuz it was hilarious and, it makes no sense that it wouldn't be included on the 2 disc dvd?!

I loved this film. I'm definitely picking up the Blu-ray. I love the fact that there is a director's cut. The movie seemed perfect as it was.
