the director has some involvement in the dvd/blu-ray release? wow, considering how they treated her and booted her from the sequel, didnt think she'd want anything to do with this.

According to the c**p I just read online, she did. Nothing official though.
does the cover sparkle?
No, bit it'll look pretty when you toss it into the fire...
The cover doesn't really stand out - looks formulaic...

Now that made me chuckle

Call me crazy but this was my favorite movie of 2008. It wasn't the BEST movie of 2008, but it was my favorite. Mostly because I'm a huge fan of the books, so I knew all along I would love the movie. Can't wait to own the DVD!
Pass.
We thought the hype was getting way out of hand when it came out in theaters. Wow it'll get way more out of hand on DVD. I don't really care for Twilight or the books. But I might rent this to see why everyone is going gaga over this.
14-year-old girls rejoice!
If I were 14 and had a vagina, I may have enjoyed this...
*sigh* At least I won't have to see it in theaters.
"A full blown pop culture phenomenon"...that doesn't always mean it's good. National Socialism, racism, and homophobia could all possibly be considered as "full blown pop culture phenomenons".

I enjoyed this film, and I like that cover very much. Its not the most original thing ever, no, but its much nicer than any of the posters for the film.
it was actually pretty entertaining. a little slow at parts and cheesy love story but idk, i liked it. a buy for me
Oh, God. Pass.
The movie wasn't THAT bad, but it wasn't great. Not worth the Blu - I really don't need to see sparkly vampires with that much clarity.
Easy buy for me.
This wasn't THAT bad. It wasn't the greatest movie ever, but it was an entertaining way to escape for two hours. Give it a chance before you bash it. If you still hate it then, fire away. Who knows, you MAY end up enjoying it on some level.
Ahhhh Kristen, she sure has grown up since I seen her in Panic Room. I shall be avoiding this like a fat man avoids the salad bar.

I enjoyed the film. However, my favorite film honor goes to The Dark Knight. Twilight didn't crack my top nine. Wonder what's in the 12 deleted scnes.
I don't get the way people hate this because it's mainly made for young girls - don't they deserve films, too? I've seen lots of complaining all over the place that it just shouldn't exist at all - complaints coming from people who've had nothing but movies made for them for years and years and years no less! I just don't get it - why do some people think that everything should be made just for them? (I'm talking in general and certainly not targeting this site)
i loved this, but i totally understand why people bash it.
buying it the day it comes out.

Oddly enough, I didn't care for the movie in theaters (I loved the book and thought they just effed it up), but for some reason, I want to see it again and potentially own the DVD or Blu-ray.

my problem isnt with the demographic they were aiming for, its with the fact the movie just looks bad. it looks cheap and like some made for tv or DTV movie, you can tell it was rushed. now i'm sure with its success, they will put more effort into the sequels but regardless of my opinion on the books or the "phenomenon", i just think the fans deserved better.
i have a friend who LOVES the books, she constantly tells me i should give em a read and she thought the movie sucked. i realize she seems to be a minority in the "fan reaction" but if she didnt like it, it tells me my fears or whatever you wanna call em arent far off.
i doubt its the most evil and bad movie in the universe like many are claiming and attacking it for but still.

This will make all of those overweight teenie-boppers that hang out at Hot Topic very happy. Fortunately for me, I'm not one of them.

This is great. Read the book but never saw the movie. It's a must rent for me. All I need now is the Quantum of Solace release date
.

It's not that little girls don't deserve movies, it's just that most of them are so limited in meager box office takes or direct to DVD sales that they can continue to be the harmless, juvenile entertainments they're meant to be. Whereas this became such a gigantic behemoth of marketing and fervor that it becomes dangerous.
Girls are afraid that guys' minds are filled with unrealistic expectations for them to live up to thanks to the media and popular entertainment, yet they fawn over Edward Freakin Cullen as if he's the second coming. Frankly, I hate how this not only fosters these feelings, but also the fact that from what I've heard it's basically saying "Change who you are, be a slave to the one you "love", and maybe you'll be able to keep them forever and ever."
Plus, the movie just generally looks like warmed over CW/The Noggin bullc**p that's being shoved into our eyes every commercial break. I'm sick of it. If you're going to make a stupid movie, at least put some production value and some entertainment into it.
