But within a few short years, the baddest man on the planet was himself on the ropes, the victim of his own rage and fear. Told exclusively through the compelling words and commentary of Iron Mike himself, TYSON is a powerfully frank and provocative look at one of the most controversial and misunderstood sports figures of all time.

Misunderstood? The guy beats up every girl he comes into contact with and bites the ears off his opponents. He's a scumbag! I'd rather watch the new Scooby Doo movie then this.

He's also an extreme misogynist, not something I see any reason to fund.
Well, if you grew up in Brownsville, NY, which is one of the roughest inner-city environments to be raised in, the only education you had from the time you were born until your teens was how to rob and mug people, and the only parental figure you had to guide you and look out for your best interests, your whole, entire life, died when you were in your early 20's still, I don't think you'd turn into much of a model citizen either....Tyson's made a lot of mistakes, yes. But he wasn't exactly dealt a fair hand in the poker game of life, which makes him one of the most tragic sports figures alive today.
Wanted to see this, but missed it in theaters. The Blu-ray is a must-have for me.....

I wish they'd release the 1995 TV-Movie starring Michael Jai White, George C. Scott and Paul Winfield. I know I'd pick THAT up in a heartbeat. As for this, I'd definitely give it a rent at the very least.
I really want to see this. I will be renting it for sure. I, too, wish that they would release the 1995 movie. There is a lot of conspiracy around the whole Tyson Rape Charges involving Don King. It is too bad that there is all this negativity toward Tyson on this site.
Heard this was good. I will check it out.
That was fast, this was released two weeks ago or so.Any boxer that bites off another boxers ear because he is losing, beats women up and further ruined his sports image does not deserve another chance. Also that argument about him not being dealt a fair hand in life and being a product of his environment is BS. Many famous people have come from nothing and seem to be fine human beings. Heck even non famous people do it all the time. Tyson is a talented athlete of poor character.
May rent even though the man is despicable. The only good thing he's ever been associated with is The Hangover.

But what good does it do to express hatred towards the man now? When his career and his legacy have obviously been irrevocably tarnished. His baby daughter just died by strangulation, in a horrible household accident involving a cable that was attached to a treadmill, not too long ago. He's paying his pennance for his past sins. Trust me.

In Mike's defense, Holyfield got away with many illegal headbutts in their fight. Yes, biting his ear off was a ridiculous way to get revenge but it wasn't just for no reason. Like Michael Jackson-his personal life sucked due to a great many things, but you CANNOT DENY the man's legacy as a boxer based on one fight. Tyson was a monster in the ring, youngest heavyweight champion, unbelievable power and speed. Look at his record and you'll see most of his fights he won by knockout, even more amazing, most of the knockouts were within the first two rounds.
So bash him all you want on here, he's done BAD things and he's done GREAT things...regardless I'll be buying this.

Whilst that can be used as evidence to fill in a persons back story, ultimately he's an adult, so that doesn't wash.
