^ Is that the problem? Because I gotta say, the guy on the coverart looks absolutely nothing like Michael Sheen/Lucian. And what's with Sonja's Barbie Doll stick legs?? And now that I look closer, Sonja doesn't look much like Rhona Mitra either. WTF?
Artwork aside, though, I'll be getting the movie regardless. I didn't have a chance to see it in the theater, but I really liked the first two, so getting the 3rd is a no-brainer!

Terrible cover - the photshop artist must have used the wrong actor instead of Michael Sheen

they did the same with the Mummy trilogy blu-ray pack, placed the 3rd movie in the middle.

Well that revised coverart is certainly much better! I will most likely be buying the blu-ray trilogy set.
Horrible artwork. WTF is wrong with the poster art of Viktor? Nothing, in fact, it is WAY better than this mess.
That is some bad artwork, and why is the font gold? Also, they did try waaaay too hard to make whatsherface look like Beckinsale, which is just odd to say the least.
That is some baaaaad photoshop.
Does anyone know if the BD of the first UNDERWORLD is the UNRATED CUT?
OMG that is hideous cover art.
Nice to see that Sony has gotten rid of that annoying "Experience High Definition" banner at the bottom of their Blu-ray covers.
wow they really tried to make Rhona Mitra look like Kate Beckinsale. Probably the worst covert art ive ever seen. THIS NEEDS TO GO
god Rhona Mitra is ------- hot
Weakest of the 3 by far - another case of so much to play with but poorly executed.
I really liked the movie, not as much as the first too but I'll be picking it up and the trilogy set on blu as well! Sadly I'll also get it on PSP since I own the first two there as well...lol
Terrible cover art.
BEST MOVIE OF THE SERIES! Rhona was amazing and, dare I say it, a much better actress than Kate. I actually felt for her character.
That artwork is VILE though. They made her look like Kate Beckinsale.
They should've just used the Sonja Poster formatted like the UNDERWORLD:EVOLUTION coverart with a picture of Viktor underneath.

This was a good flick... if you liked the other 2.. you can't help but to like this one as well...
FYI... Bill Nighy made this film.. he was awesome in it..

They should have used the original German movie poster:

This CoverArt is a badly changed version. Can't believe some people actually got paid for doing such a c**p work, sorry.

gotta say i liked the first two films... let's see where this one takes me
I have to agree, the cover art is blah. The original poster art should be used.
Don Jariyasunant, I would say if you enjoyed the first two, you will like this one. In my opinion, this is one of the better prequel treatments I have seen. It fits perfectly into the series. My wife was motivated to see the first two after seeing this one.

They announced the third one would be a prequel before the second one came out.
A trilogy set would be nice but I'll definitely pick this up regardless.

That cover art is the most ridiculous cover art I've seen in a very long time. There's no way a professional made that. The eyes alone make this cover look dumb.
However, I will be buying this great movie.

C**PPY ART WORK!! why?????????? come one! aren't there ANY good DVD cover art people (i don't know the exact job title! LOL) out there? why do they insist on giving us LOUSY DVD cover art?
For those who have seen this, Is this a good blind buy or should I rent it 1st and wait for the inevitable price drop? I own Part 1 and 2 and was wondering if this tied in very much to the previous movies?
Innnteresting.
Good concept, bad proportions.

I stand corrected, shatnerfan. I swore I read it ended differently. I just found the article about Sheen taking it really hard when she left him for Wiseman.
The 3-pack art is pretty dang cool. Can't say the same for the actual film art, but it's ok. I'm just curious as to why they didn't stick with either the Rhona poster or Viktor poster. The previous films stuck mainly to their respective poster arts.

PSP?
i thought Playstation were discontinuing UMD movies? i mean seriously, why the hell would you pay money for a movie you can only watch on a 5-6 inch screen.
and i agree with the rest, terrible cover art but its nice to see official news about a collection of all 3. sure it'll just be the 3movies in a box like the Mummy collection, not some big ass fancy collection but i'm a sucker so i will give in. lol

from the average reviews I was expecting it to be poor but I loved it!
Well that wasn't exactly what I was expecting for the coverart, I don't hate it but Michael Sheen doesn't look anything like himself there lol. On the other hand, the 3-pack art is pretty good.
that is one of the worst cover art designs i have seen.

On the first Underworld, Sheen got dumped by Beckinsale during the filming. She left him for the director, Wiseman. That's why he was not in Evolution. Since neither Wiseman or Beckinsale were involved with this film, he agreed to come back.
The actually broke up DURING the filming of Underworld, not before. Check the web, I have not found anything to contradict that.
I do admit that I forgot that his character died in the first one, thus no appearance in the sequel.
As djblack said, Lucian's (Sheen) character was already dead from the first so there was no way for him to appear in Evolution. And wasn't he his own stand-in for his dead body in the 'autopsy' scene? Anyway, they were broken up BEFORE they started filming the first one. She suggested Sheen for the role of Lucian to Wiseman and they signed him on. There's no bad blood (no pun intended) between Beckinsale and Sheen despite her marrying Wiseman.

Horrible coverart
I hope this isn't the final artwork (it's horrible). I hope they use the Victor movie poster (it's fantastic).
Early artwork added for the Blu-ray release

I watched, in great pain I might add, the first one so I guess the third part could not be any worse. The producers of the original were so lazy that although everyone walked about talking in english there were stll signs featured in the movie written in hungarian where it was filmed. Poor, poor, poor.

I want my $7.50 and 2 hours of my life back! This movie was horrible. Spits on Romeo & Juliet. The acting was laughable too. I laughed out loud when the lead characters explained their reasoning for doing what they did. Because the story was just so complicated...
This movie is so bad it makes the two prior look fantastic.

Movie theaters typically have to sign a 14-21 day contract to get to show a movie. That's why all the single screen theaters are gone because they can't survive by not showing a new movie every week.

Enjoyed this. Will buy on blu.
Yes!! I LOVED this movie! I cannot wait to own it. Bill Nighy was AWESOME.

LOVED this movie! it's as good as, if not BETTER THAN, the 1st 2. Rhona was amazing as Sonja, and Michael steals the show as Lucian. AWESOME movie!

Michael (LUCIAN) wasn't in EVOLUTION because Lucian had been killed in part 1 NOT because of the behind the scenes "soap opera". Michael Sheen is the consummate professional. he wouldn't brat out like that because of Len & Kate's hooking up.

Missed this at the theaters. I'm definitely buying this on Blu-ray to put right next to the first 2 Underworld movies.
Sheen was awesome in this; his performance elevated this film far beyond what it would have been without him, and I can't understand for the life of me why he wasn't utilized in the ad campaign at all. I was truly surprised by how much I liked it. Here's hoping for good artwork.
This film was a lot of fun, mainly because of Sheen and Nighy, but I also do hope that they return to finish the Selene storyline with one more film. I'll probably buy this on DVD but I may get the blu-ray if a trilogy pack is released for a good price.
I was impressed with this. Definitely one of the better prequel treatments. Definite pick up.
This movie was surprisingly good. Soundtrack was even better - I'd love to buy a trilogy, I've been waiting since the first one!
I would love to see a sequel to the prequel (where everything would go downhill and set the stage for the story as we know it in teh first Underworld).

I loved Rise of the Lycans. The sex scene was a little gratuitous, but then again so was the one in the first film. It was a fun little diversion, with plenty of action and a good amount of humor. The ending was great as well. If you haven't seen the film, I won't ruin it but it is pretty awesome. I will probably pick up the Blu-ray trilogy set. I was hoping for more special features and possibly an unrated cut though.

i guess it depends where you live, over here it just recently left regular theaters and is about to start playing in the cheap theaters.

the trilogy dvd set and blu-ray set has been confirmed and released at the same time as this
I thought it was really good, but too short (82 minutes).
Will buy on blu-ray

I was suprised they got Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy back for this. I guess it was crucial they did seeing as it was a prequel. I enjoyed the first two films, got them cheap on dvd a while ago so I will check this out at some point.
