Thanks for the spoilers guys!
I have a love and hate thing with this show. sometimes it was good. sometimes it was bad. sometimes it dragged on for too long

Yeah, I was surprised about that too.
Yeah, I was surprised about that too.
Yeah, revenge is an interesting storyline for stories, but the entire show was already about her trying to save him, then he died. She would have been like an emotional train wreck and that's not fun to watch. It just really bothered me. LOL I mean her son, her SON! LOL You should never kill off a character's child to me. With all due respect though, those are classic stories and they are a lot more respectable & intelligent then something like V. LMAO! Weren't those characters already dead in those stories? Tyler was Erica's driving force to stop the Visitors, then they threw his character aside like yesterday's garbage. It was disgusting! If it's the set-up of the story it's okay for me, but if you spent half of a story's time developing her son, then you can't just kill him off. They only killed off good guys too and they were all so nastily done. WTF? I just couldn't even begin to grasp how & why they did it. It was one of the worse things I've seen on television. Those other stories honestly don't really feel comparable to this situation. I know revenge can be interesting but I really don't think they quite measure up with V's revenge storyline idea. I mean they cancelled it, perhaps they didn't want to see how the show would've ended up with that storyline. Whatever. Nobody thinks the same way I do I guess. LOL To normal tv-watchers it's just an hour of entertainment. Entertainment is a field I want to go into so I take fiction more seriously. HA HA
UPDATE: I think revenge on aliens for murdering your son is a little less fulfilling or interesting as even once they are dead, Erica would have nothing to live for. Her success would be pointless. As for your examples, they are interesting but I'm not too familiar with Star Trek or Hamlet entirely, but I do know stories where revenge was a well-written storyline. I also know killing a whale just for maiming you doesn't seem like it fits well here as Captain Ahab was positioned as a villain and he perished because of his obsession! He murdered whales, he was pure evil. I don't like him as a character either because the whale didn't deserve to die just because Ahab was a reckless moron. I know he's a character from classic literature, but he's still not exactly a smart person. He was driven by anger and he paid the price. Besides, Shakespeare's classic revenge stories don't seem to have much similarity with a sci-fi alien show in 2011. LOL I don't know anything about Star Trek so I don't know about it. From what I've read, Hamlet has many characters who all want revenge and it's considered classic so I still don't think it compares here. I mean it's Shakespeare vs. V. He also showed how terrible things happened to people because of revenge. It's just sickening to me that V's writers even crossed that line and I don't think revenge was the outlet this show needed. Erica already wanted revenge because they took her son aboard the ship and killed her ex-husband. So, now she would just want it more but she lost everything worth fighting for in the first place? Tyler didn't even have a developed character before they just knocked him off. I understand what you're saying but I just can't be okay with killing off a mother's son. I kinda felt slapped in the face and I wasn't even an extreme "fan". You wouldn't think so with my rambling on here, but it was deeply disturbing for me.

Not sure I agree with everything you said their HugFun. Killing her son will lead to revenge, which is one of the greatest motifying forces in literature: Hamlet, Moby Dick, Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan.
:p
I'm really disappointed this show got canned. It didn't always fire on all cylinders, but when it did, it was really good. I had to forget the original, because the original played more like A New Hope, compared to the new series's Phantom Menace. But things were hotting up. I would still have preferred this over Star Trek: Enterprise, which was awful for 3 seasons and got canned when it started getting better.
It's a real shame how quickly shows get cancelled these days. I guess it's a lot riskier for the networks when the shows are so expensive. There was a lot of location shooting in "V", plus the cast would get more and more expensive as each season goes on.
Shame.

Good riddance! The series finale was one of the most repulsive hours I've ever seen on television, at least for me personally. It just sucked and I don't even want to imagine the horrors that would have occurred in a third season. I mean kill off the main character's freaking SON? I don't care how naive he was, it was just inconceivably atrocious to me. She would've had nothing to live for in her character. They thought it would be "fascinating" to watch her crumble to get revenge on the Visitors? Yeah, not really. Not to mention all the other horrible things that happened. They killed off everyone good and let the bad guys win, just like they did on every single episode. It was a disgusting series finale to me and it left me with no desire to keep watching it. So in all honesty, and as dumb as it sounds, I'm ecstatic it's gone.
LOL
Tagline's somewhat priceless though. But it's still dumb! HA HA HA

Does anything EVER happen on this show?
Every single time I flick over to it, there's just people standing around on a fake CGI set talking about something dull.
Life's too short, seriously.

i loved this show. it was one of the very few MUST SEE shows i never missed. i've learned that if it's a genre show and it's on ABC do not bother to get invested in said show. it will just be prematurely canceled (like ABC's "Pushing Daisies", "Invasion", etc).
...and when the show looked as if it might of actually been starting to get good. As bad as it could be at times, I still watched it hoping it would get going somewhere.
What's the effin point when they cancelled it and it ended on a cliffhanger?
