I liked this movie...it was very suspenceful and terrifying...nice to see lead characters who are smart and actually think in suspence films for once. Already watched the DVD and excellent sound and picture quality from the standard DVD.
I loved the movie, but the artwork is horrible.
I LOVED Vacancy, and I'll definitely be buying this, regardless of that terrible cover art. They should have stuck with the poster.

This is the statement where the "to" should have been a "too".
And to Kyle Mertes - I think people (myself included) are just amused by the irony, that someone correcting someone's spelling goofs up by doing the exact same thing - using the homonym for the intended word. We all know this isn't a spelling contest, and we know that we're not being graded on this stuff. No offense is intended to all parties, it's just that I just find it a little amusing...

This was a nice surprise to see...I thought the film was made quite intelligently with some real solid scares. I'm not a fan of Luke Wilson but I found myself rooting for him. It's a nice, small, compact film that knows what to show and when to show it. Most importantly...it knows when to end. I loved this and will for sure be picking it up.
Leave it to the foreign directors to yet again craft a horror film that digs a bit beneath the surface.

I wonder how many people will think the movie is called 'No Vacancy'...
Quote: That one was not only predictable, it made no sense in the last 30 minutes. The whole story was pathetic. A waste of a great cast.
Well, you can't dump the movie because you didn't understand it. That's stupid! It was not predictable at all (if you either guessed about 50 possible solutions) and it was one of the best thrillers in 2005.

Nimrod Antal's,(real name),previous film Kontroll is blinding. I recently imported the English friendly Hungarian 2 disc special edition and it's worth every penny. Cracking soundtrack as well.
Hated this one. Kontroll was great though..as an above poster mentioned.
I wanted to see this, but listened to the critics. I'll pick it up, looked really good and creepy!
Why do people insist on correcting others' spelling in forums like this? Seriously, it's called TYPOS people. Not everyone is perfect. This aint an essay contest.
Anyway, the artwork is okay. Nothing special, but it conveys the mood of the movie perfectly.
And Kaya, you're right about the hotel/motel movies. Identity is one of my favorites!

It's a good thing that Kate Beckinsale is easy on the eyes, because this is one butt-ugly cover.

How did it not make sense? It totally did. I have to disagree on the story being pathetic because the audience had no idea whether Jodie Foster's character was a crazy lunatic or if someone did something to her daughter.

Wheter you are referring to me, in no statement did I need to write "Too" but to. But thanks anyway Literature teacher.

Messy artwork! Glad it has a slipsleeve, but I would have wanted them to stick with the original poster. It looked much cooler.
I really liked this film. It plays out, oddly, like a graphic novel (especially the main titles and ending) i will def pick this up, smart filmmaking.
the artwork is way too busy, it looks like sum1 went on photoshop and tried to include as much as possible

Me either, the poster was better than that c**p. I've seen direct-to-video movies with better artwork than that.

awful artwork, it looks like a job they did in the PAINT program
Yeah......this will be a blind buy. Looked good and I heard good things from the right critics.
****Possible spoilers****
This movie started off great but went south about 15 minutes into it. The part that ticked me off the most, showing one of the killers dart behind them in the hotel room at least twice , only to disappear. And they never saw or heard him. In that small room. This is done only to get you to jump out of your seat. What's the point of the guy coming and going? Why didn't he just kill them right then and there? Or at least try.

The "motel" thing has been played out way too many times in horror/suspense movies. The best one of recent is Identity, that was a good flick. This looks pretty 'meh' to me, will wait for HBO.
Nice Artwork. Will pick this up!
I'm going to see this as a fan of the director, Nimrod Antal. I urge everyone to see his previous hungarian comedy thriller Kontroll, an instant classic. Not sure why he's done this but hey...
can't say i agree, the artwork is suprisngly good, I saw this movie and I'd say it's a 6/10 maybe a 7/10 if i like it the second time i see it.
I'm not impressed by the artwork.

I cant think of anything else, but these are amoung the many thrillers that never even held to be predictable.
About it, not only did i hate this movie for having a high predictable level but because Kate Beckinsale's character was amoung the worst characters she has ever played. For 95% of the film she spent all the time whispering to Luke Wilson.

Vacancy
This was a great little thriller. The run-time was quite short but I think this worked to its advantage as the paced rocketed along and never let up - worth a blind purchase.

very bad film, it was predictable from start to finish.
It was way too short for me to fork over the cash and see it in theatres. I might give it a rent. It looked decent.
This was very disappionting. Great idea, but it just fell flat. The snuff movies seen on the videos were cool and all, and that ending was very clichéd. I really wanted to like this, but it just bummed me out.
I like Kate Beckinsale and this looked fairly interesting from the previews. It looks like it falls short, though. Without seeing it, I'm assuming from the trailers that it will be like a handful of movies that came out last year where they had appealing concepts but were poorly executed.
Regardless, I will NetFlix this one.

Good movie a little short, but still a good suspence movie! Will buy
i didn't like the movie at all it was well short only like 1 hr and 15 min long. just a bad movie but i liked the concept of it just wish it was better
I wanted to see it also but just didn't get the chance. Most likely pick it up.
I'll definitely pick this up. I loved this movie.

This looks interesting.

When David (Wilson) and Amy Fox's (Beckinsale) car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, they are forced to spend the night at the only motel around, with only the TV to entertain them... until they discover that the low-budget slasher videos they find in their room were all filmed in the very room they're sitting in.
