Further Details:
Universal Home Video has announced a special edition of Vertigo which stars James Stewart, and Kim Novak. The Alfred Hitchcock film will be available to own from the 7th October, and should retail at around $26.98. The film itself will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and 2.0 Mono tracks. We've attached the full disc specifications below:

couldn't Universal release those special editions with the "Masterpiece Collection"...
and I'm sure it's not like they were newly found bonuses.
Hopefully, which I highly doubt, they'll put out a "Hitchcock / Truffaut Interview" DVD...
that would really make it up to me.

I find it the most different than his other films... Which is why I like it so much. I just have a thing for stories with female doppelgangers, obsessed men and themes of people creating their own private hell.

yeah - I just recently bought the Masterpiece collection so . . . there's no damn way I'll be double-dipping these titles for anything less than a Blu-Ray release (and even then, I'd have to save my pennies)

Yup...same deal for me. Bought my Masterpiece about two months ago...no double dip for me.

I'm not digging this art, honestly. I'm happy that this, Psycho and Touch of Evil are finally getting the treatment they deserve on DVD, but this art is just... I don't know, distracting.

It would have been better with just the original theatrical art of Stewart and Novak circling into the abyss.

Im glad I didnt buy the masterpiece collection, & just bought the ones I like separately, which are Rear Window, Vertigo and Psycho..Even though dipping again doesnt usually excite me and 95% of the time I pass the re-release these 3 movies all appear to be upgrades to their current release, with added features in addition to the same features in the previous releases..the Psycho one looks great with all the collectible cards and such
