Virtuality (US - DVD R1)
Universal reveals package artwork for a new TV movie arriving on the 4th May

Synopsis
Quote: Nothing is what it seems in this daring, futuristic movie event from legendary Director Peter Berg (Hancock) and Executive Producers Michael Taylor and Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica). Twelve extremely talented men and women have been chosen to be part of the Phaeton mission, a 10-year trek to explore a distant planetary system. In order to endure the stress of being confined to their high-tech vessel, the crew passes the time using advanced virtual reality modules that allow them to take on various identities. But as the ship approaches a critical phase of their journey, a deadly flaw is discovered in the virtual system, forcing them to question if someone onboard might be a killer. Starring Clea DuVall (Carnivále), Joy Bryant (Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins), Sienna Guillory (Eragon), Ritchie Coster (The Dark Knight) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Firewall), it’s a dazzling trip to unexplored reaches of outer space and the inner imagination that Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune calls a “complex and intriguing film.”

In case you don't know what this is....This was the 2 hour Pilot for a proposed series for FOX here in the U.S, but FOX decided not to order the series. They did air this movie last summer.
Reminiscent of Defying Gravity. (can I use a show that came out last year and the word reminiscent in the same sentence?)

They'll call anyone 'legendary' these days.

Was the press release written by Barney Stinson?
I actually caught this on Fox when they aired it, it wasn't too bad but as far as I remember. Sadly the ending was really left open for the series and the unresolved plot lines really killed the movie. It was more 2001 and less Battlestar Galactica in tone (which was nice to see on tv) and it was actually well directed and thought out. I'll probably get the dvd if they at least put in a commentary.
Very good Pilot for what could have been a very interesting series. Such a shame it wasn't picked up. As theshape13 says, the ending is open for the rest of the non-existing series.
