Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced Voyage of the Damned which stars Faye Dunaway, and Max Von Sydow. The disc will be available to own from the 21st April, and should retail at around $14.98. The film will be presented in full screen, along with an English 2.0 Stereo Surround track. As far as we know, no extra material will be included. We've attached the official package artwork below:
Quote: Voyage of the Damned is based on the tragic 1939 voyage of SS St. Louis. Before the start of WWII, 937 Jewish Germans are offered safe haven in Havana, Cuba. They depart Hamburg in high spirits, looking forward to their new life. However, the whole voyage is actually a Nazi propaganda scheme and the passengers are never really intended to be allowed ashore once they reach their destination. After weeks of unsuccessful pleas, they are forced to return to Europe.

The old VHS from Magnetic video is 182 minutes and was actually letterboxed 1.77:1 I have the tape and checked the running time. I have never seen it released again at this length.

Yes, the very old rare two-tape VHS set from Magnetic Video was 182 minutes, but the out-of-print DVD from Pioneer was the cut version with a 137-minute running time. That's 45 minutes cut out. I bet Lions Gate will release the same butchered print, but you never know so fingers crossed!

And here I thought this was going to be a Zombie movie.
It is truly an injustice to have a film of this calibre to be reduced to fullscreen!!! Enough already!! Bring on the digitally remastered widescreen uncut version!!! No substitutes please !!!
