I have this idea that maybe the cover shown for the 3-disc is just the slipcover and the real case under it has the art of the 1-disc.
will this be region free like the WB blu`s? i dont know about disney blu`s. ta.

As I've said before, there's no point of a digital copy on the DVD, but it makes sense on the Blu-Ray. Regardless, I'll still be picking this up on BD

Will probably get the 3 Disc edition...Even though I'm getting really tired of "Digital Copys".
I hope it will be region free
What means in the news' title : "RA" ?
If it's not region free, i'll buy it in the UK

I heard this was good so I will blind buy.
This is my new favorite animated film of all time - a masterpiece.
I'll be picking up the 3-disc for sure.
Good god I can't get over how great this film is.

First, this is a VERY good movie for blind buy.
Second, I heard the digital copy can't even be put onto your ipod? So it is an absolute waste of a disc. Disney thinks we are so lazy to not even being able to put a disc in to watch the movie and we have to resort to quickly double clicking on our desktop?
I am really tempted to rip the DVD open on Nov 18 when I am in Best Buy, then throw out the digital copy and persuade the cashier to charge me only for the 2-discs.
actaully do some research and you will find out yes you can Rip it on to itunes Disney Files will give you several options on how to copy it

This movie sucked so much a** and i love pixar thought i never see the day where Pixar made a bad movie but all things must come to a end. Ku Fu Panda was a much better movie and the best animated picture of the year.
A definite blu-ray purchase.

This was the best pixar film they've done yet, really inspired for what they usually go about crafting.
I wonder how the 3-Disc Blu-ray is going to sell. I personally don't care for the digital copy. I'm glad I can get a version that has all the special features without the digital copy. However, I do know some people like it. I'm curious how the price will differ between the 2-disc and 3-disc blu-rays.

That's actually a pretty sweet idea! I've got numbers of releases that came with OST, just on the top of my head like 'The Terminal' and 'Babel' 3-Discer, US and Korean LE respectively...I think it's much better than getting the Digital Copy actually. Although, I don't mind Digital Copy, but OST would be better.

Thank you yankeemike81! I agree, Wall-E should be looked PAST the Best Animated Picture of the Year category and put into the BEST PICTURE of the Year category instead. Wall-E (and The Dark Knight) were excellent movies to come out of the year (so far) and both have BEST PICTURE material.
Excellent! Excellent! 'Wall-E' and 'The Dark Knight' tops my 2008 so far, and Disney Pixar has always produces stunning Blu-Ray - count me in for the Blu-Ray Release for this one!

You do need 2BD when you are going to have most of the extras in HD, that is also the case in which you have a lot of extras as well (take Transformers for example) - and bear in minds that uncompressed track also takes up a lot of space as well

I love this movie and imho this movie should be look past Animated movie of the year but looked into Best Picture of the Year! this and Dark Knight are my top films of 08 and will be buying this on blu for sure
oh and if your a Mac User you will love all the mac Refrences in this film i belive there were about 6-7

Ya know, normally I with most people to complain about digital copy. But I can see how that could work and actually be useful with the blu-ray. If you have a DVD, you can easily rip it, but with blu-ray, not many people have blu-ray drives on their computer. blu-ray digital copies could be a good legal way to get the movie.
Worst Nightmare wrote: SlimPickins wrote: I agree...way too many discs. This is getting out of hand. Disc 1: feature and Disc 2: special features was okay. But three? That's stupid.
I guess some genius sat down and figured out how much it would cost in include a third disc, and also figured out how much extra money they'd bring in from people who think that automatically buy the version with the most discs, thinking they're getting that much material.
And I don't understand how one movie would need more than one Blu-Ray disc. Let alone three. I think you will find the third disc simply has the digital copy on it...
Also, on the blu-ray thing, blu-ray is not some kind of magical format. If you have a movie on a DVD, it's gonna take up a lot of space. If you have an HD movie on a blu-ray, it's also gonna take up a lot of space.

LOVED THIS FILM! It was just so funny, poignant and touching and an overall real masterpiece. Definitely the 3-Disc for me, even though I have no use for a digital copy I really do want the special features. The coverart is fine all around but I am not a big fan of the border on the 3-Disc and much prefer the great simple single disc art. Oh well, I cannot wait to own this!
WALL•E is the best animation movie 4 this Year !!! though KUNG FU PANDA is great and funny 2 !!! The 3 Disc EDITION is totally MINE 2 pick
ok, this is the best animated movie of the year, and i think it's the best since FINDING NEMO... which now WALL*E becomes my favorite animated film so far...
how could u compare WALL*E with CARS or even THE INCREDIBLES
"CARS" was too long, for kids it was too long, even for adults i think, they should never do an animation that long...
and "THE INCREDIBLES" was just ok...
oh, and yeah "RATATOUILLE" was a bit better than INCREDIBLES...
just my point of view...
so, WALL*E - best animation of 2008, and probably for the past 5 years...
oh BTW... im getting the 3-discs!!!! SE for me! :D

No!!! I want to see it in theater November 18th, not on dvd. Let's just hold off the dvd release until February, I want to see Wall-E in theaters still.

One of Pixar's best, I will definitely pick this up.
Although, once again us standard DVD buyers are stuck with another useless digital copy because we don't want the single disc set. They should really make the 2 disc option available outside of Blu-Ray.

Good stuff, best of the year? Not hardly. Best animated film maybe. Probably in the lower 10 of the top 10 of the year. This isn't even the best Pixar/Disney film for me. Glad to see they are giving it a far better release on DVD than they gave Cars or Rattatouie (a far better film than Wall-E IMO).
This film was amazing. I took my nephew (just under 3 years old) to see it as his first ever movie in a theater, and he was glued to the screen, just as I was. This movie truly transcended its technology in a way that no other Pixar movie has been able to do yet. It's an incredible achievement and i can't wait to see where they go next.
a landmark in computer animated film, digital copy sounds great for me
WALL-E is on my BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR list!!! a DEFINITE BUY!!!! on BLU-RAY BABY!!!!!
and "Boring as hell"??? NO WAY! The movie is for kids but the underlying messages in the movie is SO ADULT and that's what makes this movie so good! This is not Shrek innuedos I'm talking about this is political, helath and enviromental messages that is evident in the movie but is not forcing it upon the viewer or neither in-your-face. Pixar has been Awesome as always but I have to admit The Incredibles was not bad, Cars was a dud and Rattatoullie didn't do anything for me. But WALL-E was a likabable character even WITHOUT dialogue because I was just so interested in what he's gonna do next! A very engaging picture and one of Pixar's latest best!

Great movie. But then again, I was never disappointed with any of Pixar movies. Will pick up the Blu-Ray version.
Strange choice for the cover art though. They should've used the poster art or feature less characters.

old news by a couple of days... the cover is still good.
I'm a HUGE, HUGE fan of Pixar. I'm soo gonna get this. Special Edition, that is.
A sweet movie a must for me on blu
Cannot wait for this. I'm going Blu on this because the two Pixar movies I have on Blu-ray are spectacular. I'm still having a hard time deciding whether this or "The Dark Knight" are the best movies I've seen this year because both were amazing IMO. Shockingly, I don't really care that the cover art isn't that great, I just want the damn movie in my hands!
Overall, the best movie and most enjoyable of the year...horrible cover, and the extras look a little skim, but a must buy not only for Pixar fans, but for movie lovers all over...
Didn't Amazon say that they are going to have a 3-Disc Blu-Ray?
Words cannot describe how much I LOVED this film. One of the best I've ever seen, animated or otherwise. Saw it twice in the theatre. Will be picking up the 3-disc DVD (I'm not going Blu until DVDs are no longer made).
is 3-disc set the new 2-disc set? hulk has a 3 disc, hellboy 2 has a 3 disc, dark knight will probably have a 7 disc or something, this is getting out of hand. they make computer programs for putting movies on the computer (handbrake, etc.), just a marketing ploy now. id rather have a 2 disc set of Wall-E w/o the digital copy.
Pixars best film yet!!!This film has so many layers, so many things to discuss and talk about. Not to mention the stunning animation. My new favorite Pixar film, followed by Nemo.
When are they going to learn that we don't want a fricken digi copy.
I am sure Presto is on it. The short is always on it.

Looking forward to seeing this again, I love Pixar. Cars and Ratatouille look amazing on Blu Ray. Can't wait to see Wall e on Blu Ray. I wish they would release, The Incredibles and the rest of the Pixar library on Blu Ray, I am not sure what they are waiting for. The movies are all digital already should be an easy port over to Blu Ray.
2 Disc Blu ray for me, I HATE the digital coppy c**p. It needs to end.

I love everything Pixar have done so far. Saw Wall-E three times in the cinema the best film I've in a long time animated or not. The Pixar story is a fantastic doc i didn't want to buy the pixar box set just to get it as I already have all the films. The 3 disc edition is top of my list of purchases for this year.

Tell that to my 3-year old son. He sat mezmerized through the entire film then couldn't stop talking about it for hours afterward. He loves this movie. The great thing is, this comes out on his birtday, perfect!
For me, Wall•E knocked The Incredibles down a peg to 2nd to become my favorite Pixar film! Loved everything about it. Not just a good Pixar film, but a solid Sci-fi film in general.
Been anxiously waiting for this particular announcement and I can't wait to pick this up!

OMG! I LOVE THIS MOVIE. This was WAY better than "Finding Nemo" by a ton. I'm going to have to say that I would want the 3-Disc and the Blu-Ray. Definitely a huge must-buy. Right on my sister's birthday.
I like what they did with this release. The Blu-Ray actually gives you the choice of a 2-disc Blu-Ray or a 3-disc with a digital copy Blu Ray. I like having the choice. Great movie and I'll definitely buy it.
This was a kids' movie? It was boring as hell...
This movie is fantastic! One of the best movies this year. I'm definitely getting the 3-disc.
A must purchsase for me. I loved the movie but I gotta say... that is some crummy cover art. No worries though since I am sure there will be a better looking Steelbook cover.
I loved this movie, definately the 3-Disc for me
WEAK effort from Pixar.
This digital copy madness is getting out of control. You put "3-disc set" on the cover and make it seem like the buyer is getting more than he really is.
I thought WALL-E was actually cute but at the same time I thought it was boring. I really tried to get in the movie but I found no magic. Maybe I'll rent it and see if my second viewing is superb but seriously now Disney is trying digital copies. Pathetic.
yep. that's a definite BD purchase.
that cover makes no sense. and ugh.. digital copy again...
Lol he has blue eyes now.
nice.
WALL-E's "eye's" look kind of strange. But I LOVE this movie.
