Quote: “War Horse,” the Academy Award®-nominated Best Picture, is a story of incredible friendship, loyalty, courage, hope and tenacity. Based on the Tony Award®-winning play, and set against the sweeping canvas of World War I, this deeply heartfelt tale begins with the remarkable friendship between a feisty colt named Joey and his young trainer Albert (Jeremy Irvine). When they’re forced apart by war, the film follows Joey’s extraordinary journey as he changes and inspires the lives of everyone he meets. No matter where they go or what they experience both boy and horse keep forging ahead, driven by devotion and the hope of returning home. Filled with spectacularly rich visuals, “War Horse” is one of the most powerful and moving stories of friendship and love ever filmed.

I want to watch the extras on the four disc version. still haven't seen this film yet.
First day blind-buy purchase. Have heard many great things and countless people have recommended I give it a try. The beautiful looking cinematography alone is enough to peek my interest. Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston are certainly added bonuses.
First day purchase for me as well, definitely a David Lean/John Ford throwback type of film, I loved it. BTW it's pique your interest, not peek.
Will be getting the 4-disc blu-ray for the extras, of course... when it's on sale.
I hope the horse doesn't die.

D'oh. Can't believe I made that spelling error.

I don't know why they feel the urge to ruin amazing posters like this one with that godawful frame all around it.

Perhaps somebody wanted it to look like this:

I'll be buying this, will have to debate whether to get the regular Blu-ray release or the 4-disc deluxe edition.
Saw it yesterday... It has the traits of all Spielberg's disappointing output since Private Ryan, and yet manages to be his best movie ever since. His channeling John Ford/David Lean is wonderful, even if somewhat disjointed from the typically underwhelming script.
Was it just here or did it get a lame distribution scheme anywhere else...? I for one had to wait to see it on the smallest theater in my area because it just didn't play in the biggest ones...

FIRST DAY BUY FOR ME! Okay, okay, first of all, I didn't see the movie. Steven Spielberg is my idol! It kills me inside that I didn't see this film. It's not that I didn't want to, it's just that I had a ton of stuff on my hands. I've been wanting to see this desperately ever since I heard he was attatched. Since war films are Spielberg's major, I knew this film wouldn't disappoint. Ever since Indy 4, everyone doubted him, but I liked that film. I'm sticking with my role model. The fact that Tom Hiddleston was attatched as well made the anticipation greater! Like the cover though, it make's sense that it looks like a book. CANNOT WAIT!
