I was just thinking the same thing. When did this air?
This aired back in the late 80s. It was usually paired with "The Adventures of Superboy" out by me when I was a kid. It's actually the second season. The first was released on DVD a few years back. Really cheesy, but entertaining.
Adrian Paul of "Highlander: The Series" fame made his debut here replacing Richard "Predator" Chavez.

yeah this was a lame canadian series but as the 90s and 00s proved, its the only kind of sci-fi tv we can make.
This was part of the boom in made-for-syndication Sci-Fi series that happened once, "Star Trek- The Next Generation," hit it big. It takes the 1950's George Pal movie as it's starting point and only ran for two seasons. The seasons themselves were quite different in that the first was about a group of scientists (along with a military advisor) trying to prevent the recently re-awakened Martians from infiltrating our society and re-igniting their invasion plans and the second jettisoned half the cast and took place in a run down, dystopian future after the Martians had taken over the planet (which happened off-screen, between seasons), with the scientists now acting as a resistance.
Colonel Ironhorse was bad ass.
Colonel Ironhorse was killed off in the first episode of this abomination of a second season.
