At last! I waited years for a decent version of this and it actually paid off. Cool film and Ally Sheedy actually looks hot in it.

Why is the original priced so much less than the inferior (granted, it has not been viewed, but come on....) sequel?
"Would you like to play a game?"
I was think about buying this movie for awhile. I'm glad I waited. I will definitely be picking this up but I think I'll pass on the sequel.

its sad that it tool a c**ppy direct to dvd sequel to give this a proper special edition. but the question is, is that guy playing matthew's character or is it a "in name only" sequel?
The anamorphic transfer alone will get me to double-dip on this, since the 1st DVD is not anamorphic.
The commentary is the same as the 1st DVD.

Wargames 2 is just an in name only sequel...
It will not become a cult classic like the Original, but it may be worth a rental...

Absolutely loved WarGames, and although I own the Region Two copy, I'll probably double dip and get this version giving it's only going to be about $15ish. :D
I wonder why the re-release isn't coming out the week before since June 3rd is the 25th anniversary of its theatrical release?
"A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess? "
A cold war classic.Joshua is right, better not to play the game at all. This is on TV all the time, but I may pick it for the extras.
The DTV sequel sounds horrible with it's modern day twist.
Quote: The movie will star Matt Lanter as a computer whiz named Will Farmer who engages a government super-computer named Ripley in an online terrorist-attack simulation game. Little does he know that the online game he plays is actually part of a sophisticated piece of government spyware designed to find potential terrorists. Homeland Security, now believing Farmer to be a terrorist, sets out to apprehend him.

HELL YEAH!!! I had this movie on VHS as a kid and never upgraded to the DVD, I'm definitely buying it! I love this movie and Ally Sheedy is so hot!!!!!!
Now let's hear it for Blu-ray!
P.S. Amanda Walsh is hot.

Definite pick up.
Great Movie. Better than:
Hackers, The Net or even Antitrust
Not sure about the sequel though
Funny how Broderick has same haircut than Bill Gates (or vice versa)

Finally! Been waiting for The Dead Code to come out forever. Hey, what the heck is this Matthew Broderick version?
Too bad about the cover. I actually liked the original R1 release cover. The tagline should've been the obvious, "Would you like to play a game?"
Considering I didn't pick up the original DVD release, I'll definitely get this one. Skip the DTV sequel though(it's not a sequel without WOPR)
And one more thing...
[insert "no blu-ray release?" comment]

Great!
Although it reminds me of how old I am....I saw this at the movies

I bet that tagline's just gonna haul 'em in by the buttload.
I'll pick up both of them. I love the original (Ally Sheedy=Hot!) and the sequel looks pretty cool.
Shale we play a game?...Great movie..will pick this up..I didnt even know they did another Wargames movie...SteveSky67
I have been wanting to get this, I am glad I waited.
