Wow, didn't see this one coming...isn't Waterworld like the most hated movie in history? Honestly I dont even remember this one (aside from Costnet drinking his own pee).

Nope, not heard anything yet

Hooray! I always kinda liked this movie. When it's good, it has a nice Mad Maxian feel to it.
This is awesome!
Extended? EXTENDED?!?! WHAT THE F**K? WHY? HOW?
This film is suck.
This film is suck.
This is one of those so horrible its fun to watch movies...I can't believe there's an extended version. I think I need to see this...
The UK TV listings magazine Radio Times always gives it four stars out of five.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've literally been waiting for this for years. The extended version is supposedly so much better because it fills in plot holes and gives extra fun details (like the dry land at the end is Mt. Everest)
Been a browser for a long time, I just had to register to say how I've been waiting for this for years. I know it's a bad movie but it always felt like an incomplete bad movie even though it's still entertaining. And if there's more Dennis Hopper, forget about it. I'm buying it.
i love this film..realy...
can't wait for the release
can't wait for the release
I never could understand the hate for this film. I thought it was... almost good.
That said, I don't think I could ever sit through the extended version with its nearly 3h running time.

Can I just say that I cannot wait. As huge fan of the whole post-apocolyptic movie genre, I really like this. Not for the acting, but just for pushing the imagination of what the world could become like. I've grumbled loudly for years about why the extended edition was never released on anything but video tape after it was aired on TV. Needless to say, it will be nice to kick that old "DTS-flag" edition out of my collection and relace it with this one.
I'll certainly pick it up. It's not a great movie by any means....but it's hardly worthy of the "awful flop" status it has in general too.
A must buy for me too.
ehhhh... i know right.. EXTENDED? this movie was pure s h i t
I'll definitely buy this. This is a fun action flick and I'm hoping there's more features and a Blu-ray release. I rented it on HD-DVD and it looked great.
Eh, I dont think 41 MORE minutes is going to improve this movie, it will just make the movie more of a drag to watch.
I am definitely in the minority - I liked this movie and have been looking forward to the extended cut. Various networks have played footage from this during their airings, but it'd be nice to have a definitive version of it.
I'm not the biggest Costner fan, but this movie was okay for what it was. Never really understood the whole hate for it either, other than the fact that it was one of the biggest box-office bombs of the 90's and the horror stories detailing how Costner put Kevin Reynolds through all kinds of hell, during the making of it. I remember Jeanne Triplehorn looking kinda sexy in it too. I could be tempted to revisit this film for the right price.....
Damn, Universal! Where is the Blu-ray?!

I was not aware there was a plot for which there are holes to fill... and for it to be "so much better" than the theatrical cut will not take much. Personally, I hope they show Jack Black a little more, maybe performing a D song.

I do think the extended cut does improve the film. I just hope the extended cut is the uncensored version that aired on Encore (Encore showed the ABC TV extended cut and the extended cut with the swear words intact). Fantastic news.
The extended cut may fill in plot holes, but more screen time doesn't alleviate the major problems with the film, ie the terrible acting, the poor dialogue, and the complete lack of suspense or excitement. Also, the copious amounts of scientific errors boggles my mind. This is a definite pass for me.
Nice. I'm not a huge fan of this movie but I think it has improved with age in the category "it's not that great but it is enjoyable fun" kinda way.
I am not sure if I'll buy it but i will definately get a hold of it to watch the extended cut.

Any movie that has a guy drinking his recycled piss....is a must have.
Not the greatest film ever made, but it was enjoyable in a guilty sort of way. After hearing of an extended version circulating in the wilderness I deliberately avoided picking this up from the bargain bins & am happy my patience has paid off. Just one thing though. Any news of a Region 2 release date?
Now with 45 minutes of extra suckage!
Now all we need is an extended cut of "The Postman" to signal the end of the world. hehehe
