If this offered both versions i would gladly make the purchase. While not a great movie it certainly is fun.
Makes sense to use the extended cut DVD artwork and then not include the extended cut...
I wish the extended cut on BD was released. I will pick this up though regardless.
i really really wish studios would make use of seemless branching on blu-ray. I would have bought this movie had this included both versions.
Seriously when you got a movie like this that surley won't be popular enough for a 2nd release, PLEASE have both versions of the film.

According to reviews, the extended cut isn't quality so a branching version wouldn't be practical unless a full restoration was done. The junp in picture quality going to and from the theatrical and extended cuts would likely be very jarring. It's a shame that high quality versions of both aren't going to be available on BD but what Universal could have done is include the extended cut as a 2nd DVD as there appears to be b****r all else as far as special features goes. A feature length, candid, retrospective making of would have been a must see for me. A missed opportunity but then this is Universal we're talking about. A bunch of Johnny Come Lately's.

I'm actually waiting for The Holiday on BR over here in Europe. It looked amazing on HD-DVD...

I would have settled for a standard-def disc with the longer version, but they also could have put it on the disc in standard-definition. Then it would actually feel like an extra feature. I imagine they didn't do either of these things to avoid confusing the consumer, but it still seems lame.
When it can be had for $10, I'll get one.

I just bought the DVD not so long ago so I'll pass on this but hey, 'The Postman' could be a blu-ray purchase for me.

What the "f"?
What the "f"?
Sounds like typcial movie studio c**p - they'll release an extended cut BR in a couple of years time..f'ing annoying.
Put the extra scenes in as a a branching option if needs be - its not hard!
But then that wouldn't double their income would it...grrrrr....

Shame really, missed opportunity. Looks like the HD-DVD is staying on the shelf a little longer then! Would love to see the full cut in 1080p.
Let's hope that if they do release the Extended Cut on Blu-Ray one day, it will be..well, UNCUT!

You would think they will down the track - it is a good way to make money by releasing different versions of discs over time as alot of fans will buy them. I believe this film has a small cult following and they have to do something to get some money back from this turkey.
Don't get me wrong here - I didn't mind it but I do not have it yet and will be waiting for the BD with both cuts if it is eventually released...
