MGM Studios and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment have announced releases of West Side Story: 50th Anniversary as a two-disc Blu-ray edition and a limited Blu-ray gift set for November 15th.
The two-disc offering (which makes up a part of both editions) offers a heavily restored 2.20:1 version of the original feature film, with 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio in English, as well as: 2.0 Spanish, 5.1 French and 5.1 German. Extra features for these discs include:
In addition to the above, the gift set encompasses: a newly restored DVD and tribute CD, along with a photo book and other collectibles. The cover and photo for this collection is provided below.

I always was happy with the 2 disc dvd and said to myself I didn`t need to upgrade to HD.
But that set looks amazing and will end up in my collection. That`s just an offer I can`t refuse...

My thoughts exactly. I'll probably wait and see if a smaller edition comes out, like Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, and Casablanca eventually got.
I didn't realize Fox owned some MGM titles now. I thought Sony gottem.

I don't like musicals so... I would LOVE a bluray of rebel without a cause, particularly a bluray book.
I really don't need all that stuff, but I do need West Side Story in HD.
