Buena Vista Home Entertainment has sent over the official artwork for Where The Red Fern Grows which stars the likes of Joseph Ashton, Dave Matthews, Renee Faia, Mac Davis and Kris Kirstofferson. The film, which is based upon the novel by Wilson Rawls, will be available to own from the 21st December this year. The retail price should be set at around $29.99. The disc itself will carry both 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and full screen presentations along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. As far as we know, no extra material will be included, but we'll let you know if that changes. The artwork is attached:

Finally...
I'd been hearing a lot about this movie, since i'm a Dave Matthews Band fan... It's been plagued by lack of funding, no distributor, and other things along the way. It's been in the can for at least three years, and i'm glad to see it finally getting released.

I like the book and the original movie. I don't have much interest in this one though.

I do like the new artwork better. I like how it's been darkened and I do prefer the sky in the new one over the original.

I like the artwork much better with the darkness. But I really liked the original lettering. I agree, the new banner is bad and it's a movie I'll probably pass on.

I liked how in the original one of the boys made a thud noise when they fell on the axe. That makes any 8th grader laugh.
