Fox has announced standard ($29.98) and collector's ($39.98) editions of X-Men: The Last Stand which stars Hugh Jackman. Both will be available to own from the 3rd October this year. Each will include an anamorphic widescreen transfer, along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital 6.1 EX tracks. Extras will include a director & writer commentary by Brett Ratner, Zack Penn, and Simon Kinbergten, a producer commentary by Avi Arad, Lauren Shuler Donner, and Ralph Winter, deleted and extended scenes with optional commentary, three alternate endings, two sets of menus, trailers, an inside look at A Night at the Museum, and two eastereggs (one of the Beast reciting Shakespeare and the other of the X-Jet landing in Washington, D.C.). The collector's edition will include all of the above, along with a 100-page commemorative book with an all-new story penned by Marvel Comics master Stan Lee himself. Lastly, a three-disc set containing all three X-Men films will be available for around $44.98.

Well...no dts...and it's an god-awful movie...so I think I'll pass, not worth completing the trilogy just one you want to forget like Aliens vs. Predator.
This movie is not as good as the first two but it will have to join the other two in my collection anyway. The single disc art is god awful (a dvd with a quote from Maxim on the cover is not ending up in my house) - two disc edition it is.
F#&% I can't believe Fox is doing this! I'm in denial but i'm almost positive a SPECIAL "Adamantium Clawed Edition" (or something stupid like that) will come out next year!

I was thinking about getting the CE but if the comic book is the only thing that makes the two versions different I think I'll just get the One disc "Special Edition" I'm only buying it because the movie's the bomb and because I can't wait to have it in my hands...but I don't know what I'll do when the 2 disc special edition comes out next year or later on...we all know it's coming....ON THE OTHER HAND! I'm glad to see that Jean Grey has FINALLY made it into an X-Men DVD cover! But I'm still not happy that she's behind Storm....just cuz Halle plays her. GOSH! Jean will always be better than Storm! FOX SUCKS for double dipping!

The collectors editon in the US is two disc.
They have all the extra features...they sell the two disc in the UK but I think it's just the same. eventhough I'm in the US I'll buy it...but is the UK two disc worth it?

The R3 Version of Xmen 3 apparently has a DTS Soundtrack. Was visting www.cdwow.com and they have it up for pre-order for £12. Same features as the R2 2 Disk Edition.

Why would Fox not make this a 2 disc. It made so much money at the box office and yet they dont even give us the proper DVD treatment. There should at least be a behind the scenes featurette....and they are not even including the theatrical trailer...

Well, I'm a R2 customer anyway so I'm getting the UK 2-Disc version. I sure am glad that we are not treated like the R1 customers.
People are criticizing the screenwriters for the lackluster story, but it seems that they have forgotten that Zak Penn had co-written the screen story for "X2" with Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris. Penn was the only screenwriter holdover from "X2" when Singer, Dougherty and Harris left to do "Superman Returns". (He and Simon Kinberg co-wrote "Last Stand" together, it wasn't a draft by the former being rewritten by the latter.)
Of course, Penn had also co-written lackluster films such as "Elektra" and "Suspect Zero", so his screenwriting skills are mixed at best.

Fun movie, not as good as X2 or even the first. But lighten up already. It didn't have a chance from the beginning since Singer is so loved.
Wrong information, even though I love DVDActive, this site reviewed the dvd and it DOES infact feature DTS, and not only DTS but DTS-ES.

The most dissappointg movie of the summer! It has the worst thought most predictable ending of all, it's not enough, and WHERE THE HELL ARE MY SENTINELS!!!

Well, The movies are pretty much based around what Wolverine does, not so much professer X. Although Patrick Stewart is my favourite actor, he's not exactly the MAIN main character, everything happens with wolverine in the scene.
