Quote: History was made...by these guys? Zed (Jack Black) and Oh (Michael Cera) are comic cavemen who stumble out of the mountains into an epic gagfest of biblical proportions. One's a bumbling hunter, the other's a gentle gatherer; together, they're absolutely hilarious as they become unlikely participants in history's wackiest moments. Directed and co-written by comic genius Harold Ramis (Groundhog Day, Caddyshack, Analyze This), YEAR ONE is rude, crude, wildly absurd, deliciously tasteless and laugh-out-loud funny!

Damn, that's a fast one, didn't this movie hit theaters like, last month?

The film wasn't that funny, and it got boring after a while. Good actors wasted on this piece of c**p movie.
I have to admit this came out last month and is already set for a release. Damn. And it's not to far away. I think the Bonus Features look pretty good, kinda interested in that Unrated Commentary. Though the movie itself looks like garbage.
I agree, this movie looked horrible. Michael Cera does the same routine in every movie, he really needs to come up with some new material.
It did look awful but i admit i did laugh more than a few times. It's worth a rental. Not nearly as bad as critics said but yeh it does get so in the last act
That was quick. It wasn't a bad movie, fell flat on jokes a couple of times but still an okay film.
I never even liked Jack Black or Michael Cera. So PASS!
Missed this one in theatres so I can't wait to see it. I was told it was quite average though.
Despite all the negativity surrounding this, I'm still looking forward to giving it a rent.
It was not a bad movie really, just bland and forgettable.
Bland and forgettable = a bad movie. LOL
Yeah, im passing too. Not even worthwhile to add the Blu-ray to my Queue.

I was looking forward to watching this, but never got around to it. I'll buy it on Blu-ray despite all the negativity toward it. I have every film written, directed, or produced by Judd Apatow since Anchorman (except for Fun with Dick and Jane, Kicking & Screaming, and The TV Set,) even the ones generally hated by everyone (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, You Don't Mess with the Zohan, and Drillbit Taylor.) I want to add this to my Apatow collection, no matter how terrible it is. I can see his touch in every film he has his hands on, which makes even the worst ones slightly bearable.
Might check the unrated cut out. Doubt it will be any good.
Not as terrible as it looked. Instead, somewhat funny and the perfect kind of movie to rent with low expectations.
Jack Black should continue to make great comedy like 'School of Rock', not this.
This movie tanked at the box office, so let's hurry up and rush it out onto DVD and hope that it gets a "cult" following. Such a pathetic movie that I will never watch.
i think CERA is funny... i cant stand BLACK though...
so... well, i'll get it 4 sure

Movie: Below Average
This looks pretty funny. I wanted to buy it but because of all the negative reviews, I might just rent it.
I still don't get why people say any comedian needs to get "a new schtick". With the exception of a few people (Bill Murray, and to a lesser extent Jim Carrey), can you actually name any comedians in the history of time that have actually totally reinvented their style of humor? That's not what comedians do. Will Ferrell will always play the same Will Ferrell-y character, because that's his comic styling. This is why most comedians can't stay successful for their entire careers, because eventually the public's favor for their style runs out.
The movie was very funny, but it was very bad. If that makes sense. The different senses of humor didnt blend well and it was a catastrophe when the jokes fell flat. But the jokes that did hit were very funny. It looks like the alternate ending is the ending I wanted to see as I was watching it, so I might give it a rent...
Unrated or not, this will still be one of the worst films of 2009. And I was really looking forward to it too!
Bore One would look more like it. Once again they are still using c**ppy cover arts with c**ppy movies starring Jack Black and Michael Cera. We're getting ripped off.
"I double dare anyone not to laugh"
I'll take that dare.

That cover looks like a prehestoric Superbad variation.
Looked stupid. Didn't go. Had two free tickets to go see it whenever I wanted. I found a Transformers showtime that began around the same time as Year One. LOL.
This went from major theaters to the dollar theater in the neighboring town in LESS THAN A MONTH!

Question: Where is "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian?" I would rather want to know about that since I already knew about "Up" and "Star Trek" releases (oh and this one of course too).
Box art was what I was expecting.
