Quote: YOUTH IN REVOLT is a coming-of-age comedy that puts a fresh and outrageous stamp on a tale of adolescent obsession and rebellion. Based on the acclaimed novel by C.D. Payne, YOUTH IN REVOLT is the story of Nick Twisp - a unique, but affable teen with a taste for the finer things in life like Sinatra and Fellini - who falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful, free-spirited Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday) while on a family vacation. But family, geography and jealous ex-lovers conspire to keep these two apart. With Sheeni's encouragement, Nick abandons his dull, predictable life and develops a rebellious alter ego: Francois. With his ascot, his moustache and his cigarette, Francois will stop at nothing to be with Sheeni, and leads Nick Twisp on a path of destruction with unpredictable and uproarious consequences.

We'll give it a shot. For me, everything about that cover says 'This movie is going to suck'... plus, the plot sounds like something recycled from the Brady Bunch. In the back of my brain, I can hear Peter Brady saying "pork chops and applesauce."
Gah!
Gah!
First day buy for me as well. Was lucky to see it in it's first weekend and absolutely loved it. As an Arrested Development fan, I still saw every movie Cera was in afterwards, even ones like Paper Heart, and here, he delivered his best post AD performance yet.
Francois allows him to let loose (which he seems to have a lot of fun doing), but it's in Nick where he adds a certain level of pathos and identifiable curiousity that separates him from Evan or "Nick and Norah" Nick.
Plus, I always love Fred Willard and I laughed out loud at every one of his lines.

1st day buy, great flick. Best comedy of 2010 so far.
Yeah, that quote is ridiculously huge and easier to read then the title of the movie, great job guys!
With the NOES remake coming out before this, they should add Rooney Mara to the coverart. She's very cute in the film.
God, this is taking forever to come out!!!!! I missed out in theaters and really wanted to see it.

Reviews were pretty good but people that I know who saw it said it was horrible. Of course, a lot of the movies I love people I know found horrible
. I'll give it a rent, but my expectations are really low. Wasn't that impressed by the trailer.

Really did enjoy this. Sucks that it bombed. Will be buying.
Liked it quite a bit. Quirky but much better than Nick and Norah.
i agree with everyone else i really dont want a dvd that spells BADASS in huge letters on the cover

They should've just used the original poster for this cover of the movie. That's what I think.
Might pass on this one. Agree with TaciturnWes and Hogaburger, I actually grew tired of Michael Cera after "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist." He plays the same exact character with the same exact purpose and tone and using the same attitude. Is it just because of my madness or maturity, or Michael Cera needs to find something else to star in other than comedy? It really needs to stop now. I have zero desire to even purchase it or see it.

"The star of Superbad - now twice as bad!" That made me laugh, didn't bother to see this one but from what I've heard that quote about sums the movie up. Yeah, I grew tired of Michael Cera playing the same character over and over again a long time ago and have no real desire to give this one a try.
Why does the quote look like the title?
Wanted to see this, but not sure...

I was getting tired of the "Cera trying to lose his virginity" genre so I walked into this one with low expectations and I really enjoyed it. Will definitely buy. That cover art is pretty bleh though.
I didnt care for this, it never takes off. Some laughs, but very meandering. I love the "off the chain" deleted scenes. We dont need the lingo, just call them deleted scenes
this was a great underrated flick for sure! Definitely gave me a greater appreciation of Michael Cera...almost makes up for "Paper Heart".
Can't wait to see this one again. Great stuff!
