Don't like the floating heads or the quotes, but I loved the movie. Will pick up. Too bad it's not a double discer, with some extras about the Zodiac.

The cover is OK, one of the better covers with floating heads. I wanted to see it but never got around to it so i might rent it.
One of the best films of 2007.
Not exactly a scary movie but makes up for it with a great amount of suspense.
Richard Greysmith was the advisor on the film, & Fincher took great pains at making the film as fact based as possible.
I will buying this one. This is David Fincher's best film.

no SE? f**k you Paramount.
BOO!!!!! This deserves a two-disc. And that cover is really mediocre.
I really hope that's not the final art.
To me, Zodiac is the best film of the year so far, and the best film David Fincher has made. If it was released later in the year, it definately would have recieved serious oscar consideration and nominations. It's a must buy for me, but this release(a la Flags of Our Fathers and Babel) is just screaming DOUBLE DIP.

Great flick. Terrible cover art. I love that they used the theatrical poster as inspiration, but why not go all the way with it? Forget the heads (Is it just me or does Jake Gyllenhaal look a little 'off' on that cover?), forget the quote, go classy with the fog and the GGB. And you KNOW Fincher is gonna be down for a huge SE in the future if this release isn't stacked to begin with.
Definitely the best film thus far in 2007 - and Fincher's . I was rmost mature work eally hoping this one would get some good DVD treatment - I'm smelling a double-dip. Will I hold out though? Probably not - I can't wait to see this one again.
Sorry - I got distracted. What I meant to say was this is Fincher's most mature work, and I was really hoping for some good DVD treatment.
This is what I get for trying to double-task at work.

Hopefully this is a bare-bones affair which would almost guarantee a 2-disc SE later this year. I know there's a ton of deleted footage on the cutting room floor and this one would seem ripe for an extended director's cut. One of the best of the year so far.
Loved this! By far Fincher's best! But I am in dissapointed in no SE! I will pick this up, and I would have liked the cover better if the floating heads and quotes wre gone!
Pretty good cover. I didn't get to see this in theaters, but it looked great. Can't wait for the DVD.
i'm glad to see the film getting so much love here...it seems like everyone was talking about how "boring" it was during it's theatrical run. great f**king movie.
I cant wait. One of my favorite films of this year so far besides Grindhouse. I really hope they release a HD version.
This is my favorite of the year so far along with Hot Fuzz and Grindhouse. I cannot wait to own this movie and watch it again. The cover is decent, if the heads were gone I'd like it more but at least they kept the foggy bridge from the poster. A shame this didn't do better.
In total aggreement. This has been one of the best this year. And its nice to see Anthony Edwards getting some decent roles again.
Good movie....picking it up for sure
I cant wait.
i thought this was gonna be out for july 31st
well... more money out of my pocket for the 24

Why add the floating heads?
Well this is the best thing we've been offered in 2007 so far. I will eventually pick it up.

Count me in, lets hope there will be some decent extras because they can include much about the original crimes.
The cover is okay but I'm mad that I never got around to seeing this film. A blind buy for me, but I do hope it recieves good special features.
I heard this was actually pretty bloated and overrated.
I'm curious to check it out for myself.

the cover would have been a hell of alot better without the floating heads, really good movie better book though. no 2 disc edition?? weird but i hope they at least stalk up and bulk up the dvd then. excellent timing being a week before 300 comes out
I think the cover is awesome. Guess I'm in the minority. I don't think it's one of Fincher's best but it's still one of the better films so far of 2007.
want to see the movie. Hope it has deleted scenes on the disc, but I'm meh about the cover.
i loved every second of this. extremely well done, Fincher's masterpiece.
what the f**k is up with Gylenhaal's face?
i swear to god they half-morphed him with a pic of Deniro.

Re: The Cover. They are trying to sell a product here people...if they had no faces on the front...trust me...it would get passed over pretty fast. Theatrical posters can get away with it because sometimes the advertising is far off but for DVD's that stare at you from a shelf...you want a head or two on the front...no way would they every have gone for just the poster. Wait...the SE will have a better cover.
As for the movie...unbelievably amazing film. It's just sad it didn't do better at the box office because it's a fantastic, fantastic film. A movie about the 70's that looks like it was made in the 70's without feeling like it was made in the 70's...does that make sense? Not scary per se but several scenes are very unsettling.
For a movie that is 3 hours long...it goes by faster than every single Adam Sandler - Will Ferrell - Jack Black - 90 minute piece of garbage we have to have shoved upon us.

Me, as well. The lack of HD in either format makes me think the double dip release (for the SD crowd) is right around the corner.

I was thinking Clive Owen, but he does look weird.
