The Dead are Among Us!
In Italy, it was considered the ‘unofficial sequel’ to
Dawn of the Dead

and banned as obscene. In America, it was called ZOMBIE and advertised with the depraved tag line "WE ARE GOING TO EAT YOU!" Tisa Farrow (Anthropophagus
), Ian McCulloch (Contamination
), Al Cliver (The Beyond
), and Richard Johnson (The Haunting
) star in this worldwide splatter sensation directed by ‘Maestro Of Gore’ Lucio Fulci (City of the Living Dead
) that remains one of the most eye-skewering, skin-ripping, gore-gushingly graphic horror hits of all time!Blue Underground is proud to present
Zombie
in a new 2K High Definition transfer from the original uncut and uncensored camera negative. Each flesh-eating frame has been lovingly restored to skull-rotting perfection under the supervision of Cinematographer Sergio Salvati (The Beyond

Good news, looks like a great release!
My contact is pretty tight lipped about what else in on the horizon, though I did learn that Late Night Trains is on next year's docket. They released a bunch of Argento films in a row, and now two Fulci films in a row. I'm curious as to what the plans are for their other Fulci flicks. I wouldn't mind having Contraband or Four of the Apocalypse in HD. Manhattan Baby and Black Cat, however, I don't need another copy of.
Have any of their releases been locked or encoded to one specific region? From what I can remember their DVD releases were region '0' discs and I think all of their BD releases have been encoded for all regions.
What I really want to know is if Shock Waves is on their Blu-ray radar, because who among us couldn't use some underwater, Nazi zombies and Peter Cushing in hi-def.

Already got the BU original DVD release which i'm more than happy with and so unless they've done an amazing remaster job, i'll stick with that I think. Like someone else has said, there really is only so many talking heads extras you can sit through!
Cool - they've just shifted two units...

October shall be an ORGY of Zombie screencaps!
And Wilsons, according to the release it's going to be region free, and they usually don't lie. Now that the film isn't banned anywhere notable anymore I'm sure they have no problem region-freeing it.

Yep--I have the original BU DVD and the older Anchor Bay disc too.

Any chance of Arrow releasing this?
Also, I wish we'd get something different to talking head interviews. Having bought a lot of these types of release lately, I'm getting a little bit bored with static interviews. Anchor Bay used to do great making ofs and featurettes. I wish BU and Arrow would attempt these more often.

this movie is awesome! i'm thrilled that us non-BR'ers are getting the same bonus stuff as BR'ers. i wish more companies were as kind. i'm definitely buying this DVD release.
I see they went with the American title instead of "Zombi 2".
This thing had better be region-free, or we'll be distinctly miffed.
It's very interesting that they have an interview with Richard Johnson on this release - remarkable really, as we've seen him badmouth this part of his career in subsequent interviews on UK chatshows.
Pity they couldn't have used the wonderful artwork for the UK quad poster - it really is cool.

Yeah, it's a pretty bad DVD, but it was used and dirt cheap. It's not going anywhere. We'll do some comparisons.

Wonder why the DVD audio is 6.1. Interesting choice.
I literally bought the Anchor Bay dvd 2 days ago, but I will still shell out the cash for this release.
